At most practices, an X-ray means a referral to an outside imaging center and a wait for someone to call with results. At Wave, the X-ray is in our building. Your doctor sees you, the X-ray is taken down the hall, and your doctor goes over the images with you before you leave.

What to expect

Before
No special prep for most X-rays. Remove jewelry or metal near the area, and tell us if you are or might be pregnant.
During
You stand, sit or lie still for a few moments while the image is taken. It is quick and painless.
After
Your doctor looks at the images with you and explains what they show and what comes next.
